It’s All About Me

So, all the cool kids say that you need an “about” page. I can’t imagine that anyone would be interested in reading any more about me than they already do, but hey - I’m willing to give it a shot.

My name is Christine, I grew up on Long Island (Oceanside/Rockville Centre border) and now reside in Ocala, FL. I’ve been married since ‘93, a mom since ‘95, a mom of two since ‘98. I’m a jewelry designer, a property manager, and I’ve dabbled in web hosting and design since ‘97. Bought my first domain, DancingStar.net in ‘98, bought ColorMePink.com in March of ‘02 (God, really? Where does the time go?) I love creativity, writing, cooking, and all things gadgety. I’m bi-platform, although I really don’t use the windows machines for much of anything anymore.

I homeschool my children, not because of religious reasons, but because I believe that I can offer my children more than any of the schools here can. We tried public and private and in an act of desperation decided to try the homeschool route. That was in 2003 and most days I love it*.

I have been known on occasion to indulge in a glass of red wine, or five. I love people who make me laugh and people who speak or write well. I adore words and if I had it to do all over again, I’d be a linguistic anthropologist when I grew up. Or a night club chanteuse. I sing and play piano well enough to fake it through a few songs and once upon a time I got paid to sing at weddings, banquets, whatever. When I quit smoking, I spent my entire smoking budget for 2007 on a professional karaoke system. That wouldn’t be so bad, but every time I turn around we need new music!

I love parties and entertaining and I’m never happier than when I have a house full of people. I don’t have tons and tons of friends, but the ones I do have, I keep forever. I’m still best friends with people I’ve known for decades and decades.

I’m blessed, beyond belief, to be the mother of two incredibly fabulous human beings and I can’t wait to see them become more and more, who they’re meant to be.

*Other days I’d like to run away and change my name and deny ever knowing that Christine person
