So, the neighbors came over at around 7 last night and we had such a great time. I can’t believe we’ve never done this before and we’re going to have to do it again soon! They left a little after 10 and I was sound asleep by 12:30. You know, you can make fun of me but I just love karaoke! A couple of glasses of wine and some people who enjoy making fools of themselves as much as I do… great fun.I also bought my birthday present yesterday as well. I got an Olympus D580 Zoom. It’s such a nice camera! 4MP, 3x optical zoom, light as a feather. I just love it!So I’ve got two days left till I’m 39. I can’t believe it. I don’t feel 39… :P

Decoration Day

As you head out for your weekend, the barbecues, the parties, please take a minute and remember the reason for Memorial Day. Remember that the holiday, originally called Decoration day was for honoring the soldiers. If there’s a Veteran’s cemetery near you, go put a flower on a grave. I don’t know of a cemetery near me devoted to veterans, but there is a cemetery close by and I know there are vets buried there. The children and I are going to go Monday morning with an armful of carnations and place some on the graves of men and women who fought for our freedom. Please think about doing something like that locally too.Contribute to the Memorial Day Project. Photos, essays… let the soldiers know that no matter where you stand on the issue of war, you appreciate their sacrifices.

Ok, so it’s up and running, everything seems to work, but apparently I need to really dig into the tags and figure them out. I thought I had it, but when I upload my style sheet and index template everything goes a little nuts. Also, I just can not get the comments to open in a new window. I’ve tried three different times and maybe I’m tired or maybe I’m just dumb… lolIt’s going to have to wait though as I’ve got nothing for dinner and I need to go buy some wine for the party tomorrow night. We’ve invited the neighbors over for some karaoke — I might even break out the video camera for blackmailing purposes… :D
