End of the Year

This is probably my favorite time of year. Christmas is over and the stress of the holiday meals, the presents, the wrapping, all the trappings of the holiday that cause anxiety… yet the decorations are all still up, everything looks festive.
I set up my planner the week between Christmas and the New Year every year. It’s a great time to see where I’ve been, where I’m going. I write my mission statement for the year, I celebrate the goals that I’ve acheived and get a chuckle out of some of the things that I thought were so important this time last year which this year seem so silly. It’s a good time to reflect on what’s important and throw out that which doesn’t work for me any longer.

This year’s mission statement is about exploration. Exploring the different things that I want to do for myself and my family, the community and the small difference I can make in the world. For the first time however, I have quite a few goals that have nothing to do with anyone but me. It’s hard to find time for myself. A husband, two kids, homeschooling, our home, our meals, shopping, etc. there are only so many hours in the day. But this year’s resolution, the biggest one on my list is to make sure I have time for myself. And in the end, I believe everyone will benefit from that.

Anne Rice at her best. I can’t believe this is the last vampire book. It’s wonderful!

So Crazy Busy!

I can’t believe Christmas is only 4 days away! All my shopping is done, so that’s not so bad, but we haven’t even decided on a menu. Jim’s home and working at a local dealership, thank God, cause we’d kill each other if we had to spend anymore time together. Although it sort of cut in on my plans to spend some time alone.

I’m pretty much finished with a very big project that’s been going on for a while. The good part is, now it’s time to bill. I love billing, don’t you?

And I signed up for a class in Flash that starts in January. People have been raving about these classes and they’re cheap enough, so I thought I’d give it a try.

As if I didn’t have enough to do, I downloaded trial versions of Dreamweaver and Flash MX 2004. I’ve only played with them for about 10 minutes a piece, but I’m thinking it’s worth the upgrade.

Anyway, that’s what’s been going on here. What’s new in your world?

Oh and if I don’t talk to you… Have a very Merry Christmas, or a Happy Hanukkah or a Happy Kwanzaa or a Blessed Solstice, or whatever it is you celebrate… My wish is for you to be surrounded by people you love and that you may have whatever it is you’re wishing for.

What I’m wishing for is that the weather will shape up. It’s been in the 30s here at night for at least a week. This is not why I moved to FL!

Oh and I’m not getting rid of my blogrolls, I just haven’t gotten around to putting them back. I will soon! Promise!

Uh, looks different…
