Happy Halloween!
I made everyone take naps this afternoon, school was almost impossible! The kids are so excited… They’re going to be Spiderman and The Swan Lake Princess. Of course, there will be pictures later.

The complex has definite rules about Trick or Treating which I can appreciate. They only allow it from 6:30 to 8:30 and if you want to participate they give out an orange pumpkin sign to hang on your door. This way, we don’t bother anyone who doesn’t want to play. I think it’s a great idea. We’re going to go out for the first hour and come home and hand out candy for the second hour. I figure I won’t take my sign down till I run out of candy (we bought tons!) and I’m sure there will be people who don’t abide by the rules… *wink*

So have a safe and Happy Halloween and I’ll see you later.

Mom’s Visit

Is going very well. She loves the apartment as much as I do. Well, except for the middle of the night door slamming from next door - oh and the baby outside at midnight screaming at the top of her lungs. I can’t imagine why she was outside, but they were pretty loud. Anyway, I just shut the window and turned the air up and that was taken care of.

Today we’re going to Target, Pier One, the new flea-market that just opened and Publix. I’m making roasted chicken breast and garlicky spinach for dinner. Yum. Maybe a little couscous thrown in as well. Might as well enjoy it, going off the carbs soon.

Jim will be home Tuesday night, Mom leaves on Wednesday. Jim goes back on the road Thursday and I guess we’ll really start to get settled in after that.

I’ve got some great pictures from Homosassa Springs that I’ll try to get posted in the next day or two.

Hope you’re having fun too!

There’s always next year

I have to say… Florida deserved to win. Now before you get nasty and send me hate mail or anything, think about it. They played really well. C’mon now, I know it hurts but you’ve got to admit it.

And as fans of an incredible team, we can afford to be gracious now and again.

Oh and don’t forget to turn your clocks back.

3:00 in the morning

I can’t sleep. I’ve been trying since about 12:30 and it’s just not happening.
I feel tired, but when I close my eyes, my mind starts to race. No amount of relaxation techniques or sheep counting or mindless television is helping tonight. I just got up, went downstairs, poured myself a glass of Diet Pepsi and grabbed a new book. I’ll try reading for a while in bed and see if that helps. My luck, I’ll get engrossed in the book and be up for hours. No, that can’t happen. I can’t afford to get into a bad sleeping pattern again. I’ve got too much going on.

Jim’s coming home from Illinois tomorrow (he’s actually on the road now), my mother’s flying in on Wednesday and I just can’t be up all night! Too late for that now, right? It’s 3 am.

s***. I hate this.

I’ve been sleeping so well lately, too. I gave up caffeine and if you know me at all, you know that’s HUGE. For a week I’ve been putting my head on the pillow and drifting off right away. Most people take that for granted, but believe me, it’s a blessing. I was really hoping that I was sleeping so well due to the lack of caffeine and more importantly, that it would last. Guess not.

Well, I’m going to go back and try again. Wish me luck.

Yes We Can!!!
