So caught up in my own s*** am I, that I completely missed Lisa’s birthday. Go give her some love!
I’m so far behind in my blog reads it’s not even funny.
There were people here last night to see the house and I must say they were very pushy. Well, she was. He was like a deer caught in the headlights. She opened all my cabinets (not like she was looking to see the condition, more like she wanted to examine my stuff). She inspected the appliances and when she inquired about the fridge, I told her it belonged to me and she opened it anyway. Then they trudged through the muddy paddock and came back in and tracked mud all through my kitchen. I loved mopping it again.. not.
I really can’t wait to move.
Commodities

I’ve recently been approached twice about the domain name colormepink.com.
One was for what I suppose was a non-profit organization, the other a clothing store. Each requested that I hand over colormepink.com to them. Neither offered me a penny for it and were obviously offended when I asked what they were offering.
Now I’m of a sort that believes almost everything is for sale for the right price and I really don’t know what the right price would be for a domain name that I really enjoy owning, but c’mon. Especially the clothing store. I’m sure if I went in there and told them I really wanted an outfit that they had in the window they would expect me to pay for it. Right? Well, the domain name has obviously become a commodity. I have something you want, you give me something that I want.
It’s called capitalism and I’m a huge proponent of it.

Nearing the end of our first two week stint, Jim will be home on Tuesday night.
I’m really surprised at how quickly that went.
I’ve been entertaining myself with packing, selling the 280Z (yay!), reading and watching T.V.
On Wednesday my copy of Chicago arrived and that was a lot of fun (although I can’t seem to get one of the songs out of my head). I’m glad I saw it in the theater though, it loses something in the translation to the small screen.
On Thursday I rented Bringing Down the House which I enjoyed.
Oh and last week I got How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, which I thought was adorable.
On Thursday night I dreamed that Queen Latifah was staying with us. Bizarre. I need to stop eating pepperoni before bed.
I read two really good books. “The Only Good Thing Anyone Has Ever Done” by Sandra Newman and “The Holy” by Daniel Quinn.
Both were bizarre, just the way I like them… =)
That’s it, that’s really all I have to say for now. Sad, huh? ;)
I have nothing to say

Jim’s Home

Oddly enough, they had the worst sale they’ve ever had this weekend. Everyone was complaining about the amount of money they made (or didn’t make as the case may be). Honestly, it was more money than Jim’s made in a long time. Apparently this town is in bigger trouble than most.
The funny thing is, Jim got a promotion already. They asked him to be a closer, starting at the next sale. This is good because he gets a weekly salary that’s consistent. On the tenth of each month (or thereabouts) he’ll be getting a percentage of the month’s gross. This completely works for us. The guaranteed salary is exactly what we’ve always said was the amount that was sufficient to keep us comfortable.
He’s home for 7 days now, but then he’s gone for 14. While he’s here I’ll be getting all the physical help that I need to get us packed and when he comes home again, hopefully we’ll have found an apartment and be ready to move.
I swear, this is almost too good to be true.
Once we move and once they start doing sales south of here, we’ll travel with him. The kids will love the change of scenery and it will definitely keep my gypsy spirit quiet.
They say it’s always darkest before the dawn and it certainly has been pretty dark around here. Maybe this really is the answer to my prayers.
